First Impressions: Beneath A Steel Sky

I started Beneath A Steel Sky tonight, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Absolutely BRILLIANT writing. It’s humorous in all the right ways, and even subtly pokes fun at some adventure game tropes. I can definitely see the inspiration from Brazil, Blade Runner, Mad Max, and Akira (already spotted a reference to Akira). I think this is the most engaging point-and-click I’ve ever played, and it’s like a good book – I don’t want to put it down. Don’t know why I hadn’t played it sooner.

I feel like if there’s one game that deserves the saying, “They don’t make ’em like they used to,” it’s this one.
